The
4 color Process Print is accomplished very much
the same way a color photograph is reproduced.
Percentages of primary colors are mixed together
to get all of the colors in the actual image --using
only 4 plates. When printing T-shirts, 4 screens
are used with specialized screen mesh, ink and
squeegees. The inks are printed in the following
order: 1)yellow, 2)magenta (red), 3)cyan (blue)
and 4)black. The yellow ink is printed first,
as shown here.
|
 |
The magenta(red) ink is printed second.... notice
the sections where the yellow and magenta overlap,
creating the full range of colors between yellow
and red ...in other words all of the oranges. These
colors mix with the white background of the shirt
to give us lighter tints such as peach, lemon yellow,
and pink. |
 |
We can create virtually anything and print it onto
a T-shirt, be it a photo, a painting, a fine art
print.
whatever
you want.....
The
last color to be printed is black. Black gives
the picture its depth and sharpness, and mixes
with all of the colors to give the various shades
of colors found in the image.
